Welcome to ‘Buildersbrook’

After leaving the sea he worked for many years at the University of East Anglia in Norwich as a research technician but is now retired and claiming to work harder now than he ever did when working full time!

Tricia recently retired from full time teaching at the local Primary School in Briston but really misses working with the children so does some supply work there and has taken over the care of the school library. The garden is all her work! Except for the hard boring bits like mowing, John gets to do that!

Our dogs are Portia, the black Labrador, who is usually quiet and reserved and Bella, our son’s chocolate Labrador who lives here during the day and is bold and bouncy.

We have lived here since 1986 and the apartment was originally built to house Tricia’s parents and then ‘taken over’ by our son James until he left us to set up home with his wife. He is a policeman and dog handler so if you see a police vehicle in the drive don’t panic!

During early 2008 the apartment was fully refurbished to the high standard that we see to-day and is both comfortable and welcoming.

We strive to ensure that you have all that you need to have a very enjoyable stay and will be on hand to help you as and when required to make it extra special.

John and Tricia (Stocking) welcome you to ‘Buildersbrook’ and hope that you choose to stay in their holiday apartment. You may like to know a little about them.

John was a Radio Officer in the Merchant Navy and has a huge interest in anything nautical. He enjoys building detailed models of ships and is just completing the ‘Titanic’.
